Filaments solitary or in microscopic colonies. Trichomes ± straight or slightly flexuous, cylindrical, not attenuated at the ends, constricted at cross–walls. Cells cylindrical, clearly longer than wide, pale blue–green or yellowish, usually keritomized, 4–11 × ± 3 µm. Terminal cells cylindrical and rounded at the end. Heterocytes terminal, cylindrical or long–ovoid, 11–17 × 4.5–6 µm. Akinetes cylindrical, solitary, with smooth colourless exospore, 24–43 × 7–10.6 µm. – In marshes and wet meadows, partly submersely; orig. locality: Czech Republic, South Bohemia, meadows near the pond Řežabinec.
