Filaments up to 2 mm long, forming tufts, 6-9 (15) um wide; sheaths hyaline, trichomes 3.5-5.5 um wide, constricted; cells in the lower part nearly 2x shorter than wide, up to 3-4x longer than wide in the upper part.
Freshwater, in colonies of Nostoc, mountainous rivers, Tadzhikistan. (Komárek, Anagnostidis, 2005).
