Over intermittently wet rocks, gorge of Whitewater R., ca 3 mi n.w.of Jocasee, Oconee Co., South Carolina. (Below the lower falls). Plants green; leaves as wide or wider than long, with rounded or obtuse lodes, but acute sinus. Con androecia, perianths.

On fairly dry, rather shaded soil Siskiyou Co.: in open to closed forests of noble fir, western white pine, brewer spruce and Alaska yellow cedar, ridges south of Cyclone Gap, Preston Peak quad. Sec. 8, T17N, R8W. Elev. ca. 5600 ft.
